Lets Hands on to the Cloud Computing I

Hello everyone!. I am Dimuthu Lakshan. I am studying at Department of Computing and Information Systems, Faculty of Applied Sciences of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri-Lanka. This is going to be my first blog post. And also, i am willing to share my knowledge through series of blog post about Cloud Computing.

Lets hands on to the Cloud.
First of all, Lets talk basic things about cloud Computing in this article.

Now a days most of companies are migrating to use cloud computing concepts. Because people are getting familliar with doing things through online. Therefore campanies have to migrate to cloud computing to offer best services to their customers.

Cloud Deployment Models

when we are considering about cloud models. there are three major cloud deployement models. Private Cloud, Public Cloud & Hybrid Cloud are them. lets understand briefly about these three deployement models

  1. Private Cloud
    • These type of cloud models can use only by users in one business or organization. it can be physically located at your on-premisses data center or it can be host by third party service provider.
  2. Public Cloud
    • These type of cloud services are provided by third party service provider. Therefore it is available to anyone who wants to purchase them. And also, it is delivered over the internet.
  3. Hybrid Cloud
    • Hybrid cloud is a combination of public and Private cloud. It allows share data and information between two of them.

Benefits of Cloud Computing

There are lots of advantages using cloud computing environment than physical environment. Lets have a look.

  • High Availability
      Apps related with cloud computing can provide a continuous user expereince without no downtime.
  • Scalability
      Cloud related apps can be scale vertically and horizontally.
       - When scaling veritcally, it is inreasing compute capacity by adding RAM or CPU to the virtual machine
       - When scaling horizontally, it increase compute capacity by adding instances of resources such as Virtual Machines to the configuration
  • Elasticity
      You can configure cloud-based apps to take advantage of autoscaling, so your apps always have the resources they need.
  • Agility
      if you need any requirement changing you have to deploy and configure cloud base resources.
  • Disaster Recovery
      Your data is always safe even any of disaster. you just have to do take an advantage of cloud backup service.
